I bought a Peugeot 207 . It use 1 litre of oil every 2000 miles . Peugeot think this is normal and sent me the most condescending letter I have ever received when I complained in which they explained engines are made of metal. Not only that but the engine consists of many moving parts all made of metal. Those parts use OIL to lubricate them . Otherwise apparently they would overheat and seize up. They didn't actually answer my question but they did think having to add a litre of oil every 2000 miles was normal and acceptable. I explained that not since I had had a two stroke motorcycle had I had to add oil at such a rate. I got nowhere and gave up.
